NEW YORK -- Schwarz Pharma AG's generic version of Prilosec began reaching retail pharmacies last month.
The blockbuster antiheartburn medication had been at the center of a long-waged patent battle pitting AstraZeneca, the brand maker, against several generics companies. Schwarz is marketing the drug through Kudco, a United States subsidiary.
"We are pleased we are able to make a lower-cost alternative available to Americans," asserts Jeff Siefert, Kudco president.
